If you’ve ever needed to change a light fitting, then you know it can sometimes be a pain with modern light fittings.

Solution

The following page I have found is the best way to deal with it if the light is wired using switched live on a ceiling rose. Leaving the ceiling rose in place is usually not an option as it will cause the new light fitting not to sit flush with the ceiling.
